Suzanne M. Morris is a criminal defense attorney practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. She represents people charged with criminal offenses in trial and on appeal. Ms. Morris is a member of the criminal law panel for the Bar Association of San Francisco, the criminal appeals panels for the First, Third, Fifth and Sixth District Courts of Appeal in California and the Criminal Justice Act Panel (“CJA Panel”) for the Northern District of California. Emily Dahm has been a deputy public defender in San Francisco since 2007. She has completed 20 jury trials and handled a variety of cases such as DUIs, theft, prostitution, gun possession, drug possession, assault and battery, and domestic violence. Prior to joining the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, Ms. Dahm was an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP in Hong Kong and San Francisco where she worked in project finance and corporate litigation. She is also the current co-chair of Women Defenders, a professional organization for women criminal defense attorneys. Ms. Dahm graduated from Boalt Hall School of Law at UC Berkeley.

Megan Burns has been representing individuals charged with criminal offenses since 2004. She started out her career in private practice,
handling everything from driving under the influence cases to federal civil rights lawsuits. Since 2007, she has been a deputy public defender in the
San Francisco Public Defender’s Office and is currently assigned to the felony trial rotation. She has tried a total of thirty-three jury trials,
securing fifteen acquittals/hung juries and eight mixed verdicts. Ms. Burns has been a Board Member since 2007.

Margaret Tough is a litigation partner in the San Francisco office of Latham & Watkins LLP. She is a member of the White Collar Defense and Investigations Group. Rose Barsamyan is currently serving as Executive Director of Women Defenders, an organization providing professional, technical and social support networks for female criminal defense practitioners. Ms. Barsamyan received her law degree from UC Hastings College of the Law in 2009, with concentrations in Criminal Law and Public Interest Law. Ms. Barsamyan also served as President of the Armenian Law Students Association and the Vice President of the Ballroom Dance Club. In 2005, as a departmental scholar at UCLA, Ms. Barsamyan simultaneously completed a M.A. in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures along with her B.A. in International Development Studies and Armenian Studies. Ms. Barsamyan is dedicated to criminal defense and public interest work. She worked with the Clean Slate Unit and with felony attorneys at the Office of the Public Defender in San Francisco. Her dedication to public interest is reflected in her work with the Office of the Family Law Facilitator at the Superior Court of San Francisco as well as in Domestic Violence Clinics with Neighborhood Legal Services in Los Angeles.
